  • Maximising workflow with a Cad-Cutter
Adding new equipment is an exciting undertaking. Not only will it offer the potential for new customers, but, hopefully, new levels of profitability. All of this is especially true with cutters and printer/cutters, which present such enormous decorating potential.
    Published:  30 March, 2010

If you’re adding a cutter or printer/cutter to your business, get ready for an influx of new types of orders, and get the business ready to handle those orders by laying out your new equipment in the most efficient manner possible. But before moving any new equipment into the business, you’ll need to give some serious thought as to how you’ll physically arrange it, and doing that requires understanding how the work actually flows through the decorating process.

    Selling to the future

A recent visit to my nearest university demonstrated that students are presented with a range of printwear options unimaginable when I was an undergraduate. We had the electrifying choice of a dull scarf or a dull sweatshirt – olive green just doesn’t make for powerful printwear. But obviously everybody’s been busy pitching to student unions and successfully (I’m told that my sample of one is reflected around the country). Long may it continue, because amongst these customers is the next generation of marketing managers. If they start work with an enthusiasm for printwear one important battle is already won.

  • THE HOT TOPIC
We have been overwhelmed with the response to our latest Hot Topic conundrum: Eco products – are they just a gimmick or a serious business proposition? Here are some soundbites.

    Gill Thorpe, The Sourcing Team

“I believe Eco products are here to stay - it has been a growing market, and continued to be for us last year.  Clients are thinking far more about what they are buying and the effect they have on the global environment.”
