The Dance World Cup takes place from June 25 to July 2 in Jersey and UK manufacturer Designs Alike has been chosen to supply the tracksuits for the English, Scottish and Welsh teams.
Last year the tracksuits were arranged by another company and produced offshore, but unfortunately there were problems with delivery and sizing. So this year the team manager chose to work with a UK manufacturer.
Bev Mapes, Designs Alike’s company director, produced several designs for the team to choose from and once the team manager has chosen, each competing dance school placed an order.
Additional machinists had to be recruited in order to meet demand and Ms Mapes and her husband worked around the clock to get the garments cut out.
Around 900 dancers will be wearing tracksuits designed and made by Designs Alike, which is by far the largest order that the company has ever received.
