Two new DTF capable conveyor dryers from Vastex protect printers from ethylene glycol, a toxic synthetic fluid emitted by DTF adhesives as a vapour during the curing process.
Engineered specifically for DTF curing, in which adhesives off-gas large volumes of glycol, the new dryers draw filtered makeup air through the top-centre of the heating chamber, and through its double-wall top and sides, serving to cool the outer skin and chamber edges for operator safety.
Preheated make-up air flows into the heat chamber, replacing the exhausted air being drawn out along each side of the belt, while preventing an inrush of air from the infeed and exit of the dryer that would otherwise disturb lighter materials. The volume of air entering the chamber is also adjustable, allowing the operator to fine-tune the air flow.
A washable mist separator removes glycol from the contaminated vapour, collecting its condensate in a removable receptacle.
Air is drawn through the dryer by an exhaust fan located at the downstream end of the system to minimise exposure to heat and vapour contamination. A collar at the fan’s outlet allows connection of the user’s exhaust ductwork to the shop’s exterior.
