Times they are a changing

For many years the embroidery trade in the UK has been a very traditional one. But according to AJs, this is about to change.

Traditional commission embroiderers, sole suppliers, home and shop businesses alike have all run businesses using traditional type embroidery machines with no real use of any attachments or accessories.

The team at AJS is noticing a big change in the types of embroideries being produced by different type machines, attachments and accessories.

Firstly customers are looking for ever faster and more accurate embroidery machines and the introduction of the AR series from Tajima came at exactly the right time. The AR series has a unique DCP technology that takes precision and control of the stitches to a new level.

Also AJS saw a big swing to super compact machines for retail and the home environment. Customers were asking for a super small compact machine which didn’t compromise on build quality. Basically they were asking for a small machine that was in every way built as well as the bigger machines from Tajima and the Tajima SAI was born and released at the end of 2017.

Success stories

Techniques and effects were also changing and customers were looking for ways to offer different types of embroideries. One of the big success stories was the introduction of the Tajima Multi Cording device. This device in conjunction with the DCP technology now available on machines took embroidery designs to whole new level of creativeness and the 3D type effect you can create are truly unique.

2018 has also seen a trend towards using laser in conjunction with the embroidery machine. The Seit Laser Bridge takes the world of creative embroidery designs and techniques to a whole new level. AJS has in fact installed the first permanent Laser Bridge in its showroom for customer demonstrations.

And finally the holy grail of some embroiderers is being introduced very soon.

Yes, this machine prints the colour thread as you need it and can rapidly change to any colour or gradient of colour you need in your design. The public launch will be at Avantex in Paris from September 17 to 20 on stand Z428.
