Sign & Digital UK is the centre of the industry universe

Sign & Digital UK, the country’s leading print, sign, display and décor event returns to Birmingham’s NEC from April 2 to 4 boasting a packed education programme, new interactive features and major big-name brand launches.

Under this year’s umbrella theme, The Face of Innovation, thousands of visitors from across the UK, Ireland and Europe will have the opportunity to be inspired by the latest industry advances and connect face-to-face with the new and returning exhibitors at SDUK 2019.

Sign & Digital UK is the centre of the industry universe for three days each year, but for those who can only attend for one day, it can be a challenge to fit it all in. Below is a one-day, must-see guide.

Exhibitors

Sign & Digital UK 2019 will play host to some of the year’s biggest product launches and key technology live demonstrations. Make sure you pay a visit to:

  • William Smith – stand C16

William Smith will be enticing visitors with on-stand live demonstrations of its key products including the latest addition to its materials portfolio – the Squid Window Textile Film.

A transparent woven polyester fabric, the Squid Window can be applied to any size and shape of flat window or glass partition. In addition to preserving privacy, the film allows the entry of natural light during the day while reducing harmful solar light by up to 30%.

  • Signwaves – stand L18

The popular Sentinel range from Signwaves has a new addition – the A1 Sentinel. It features built-in wheels for ultimate positioning freedom and a water-fill base, made with recycled materials, providing excellent stability in any situation. Designed to be tamper-resistant, the sign frame is free of any visible fixings with the poster cover edge recessed into the frame.

  • Antalis – stand H30

At SDUK, Antalis will launch its new Coala Textiles range – a collection of printable textiles for signage and decoration and a further environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional PVC.

The Antalis stand itself will this year feature various elements made from its new product, Xanita Board, exclusively supplied by Antalis in the UK. This innovative and sustainable fibreboard is manufactured using fibres recovered from recycled cardboard boxes. Xanita Board’s robust specification makes it strong and versatile yet boasts being a quarter of the weight of an equivalent thickness MDF.

  • Sabur Digital – stand K10

Sabur’s DGI HSFTIII will be on display for the very first time at SDUK 2019. This high speed, dye sublimation textile printer is part of DGI’s Fabrijet Series and designed to give high volume textile manufacturers a competitive edge. A must-see product for professionals in the home furnishings, fashion and sportswear sectors.

Also, not to be missed is the launch of a new Sabur range of vinyl and laminate.

  • Amaya Sales UK – stand D2

Amaya Sales UK will be showing the newly released Texjet Echo 2 DTG printer at Sign & Digital UK 2019. This model allows users to customise their printer to best fit their company requirements.

Don’t miss some exclusive product launches

Live-demo areas

In partnership with Art Systems, Antalis and Your Print Solutions (YPS) SDUK 2019 will offer three practical live demonstration zones.

Retail is Detail, in partnership with large format printing distributor and service provider Art Systems, will focus on the latest innovations in the retail signage industry, featuring cutting-edge products from Summa, HP and Onyx. Visitors can learn how to make their retail and point of sale projects more effective.

Décor Live, hosted by The Antalis Academy, will focus on vinyl, wallcovering and magnetic substrates. Aimed at companies with large format Inkjet technology, these sessions will give a complete overview on application, as well as practical hints and tips on installation.

Anthony Devine, founder and creative director of Ministry of Upholstery and star of BBC’s Money for Nothing programme, will be bringing his pioneering upholstery school to YPS on stand E2. Mr Devine will be holding live workshops throughout each day to demonstrate how accessible upholstery production can be, with printed fabrics produced using Mimaki digital textile print technology.

Seminar programme

A high-quality three-day programme will be taking place in the Main Stage theatre, hosting a variety of industry experts and covering topics such as: A focus on retail, Interior Décor, Textile Print and Materials, Sustainability and the Environment, Print for Personalisation, and Colour Management and Workflow.

Don’t miss the keynote address at 11am on Tuesday, April 2 from Coffee Republic co-founder, Sahar Hashemi. Sahar will be inspiring visitors with her talk; Anyone can do it – awakening the entrepreneur within.
