Following last year’s management buyout, Blue Max Banner kicks off 2016 with the launch of some exciting new schoolwear product introductions, an increased colour palette in knits and sweats as well as a new bespoke shirt offering.

 Masters of colour

BMB has always prided its business on taking one essential garment and making it available in an unrivalled choice of colours and sizes, be it in schoolwear, sportswear, leisurewear or workwear. The new BMB 2016 collection is no exception – now offering even more colour choices in its most popular product ranges – the Classic Sweatshirt Collection and the Premier L/C Knitwear Collection. In knitwear, look out for new purple across each of the three designs – v-neck, cardigan and slipover. The addition of purple, takes the choice of colours in the range to eight. Aside from purple, customers can select from black, bottle, maroon, mid grey, navy, red and royal blue.

BMB’s great value Classic Sweatshirt Collection now offers three new colours – scarlet, jade and classic navy a slightly darker hue than the existing navy, bringing the total choice of colours in this range to nine. From April 2016 a new Classic Cardigan option will also be available in nine colour options.

Nigel Plenderleith, chief executive, says: “We have taken on board customer feedback adding new colour options across both genders, and in response to the increasing demand by academies for the colour purple, we have now introduced this as a stock held line.”

A smart choice for suits

The latest BMB Schoolwear brochure features BMB’s extensive range of high quality schoolwear and sportswear. It contains 140 pages of schoolwear options, is perfect bound and features a colour-coded step index for easy navigation of each of the nine sections.

Exciting new introductions include the Aspire Suiting Collection. The Aspire jacket is available in styles for both girls and boys. Distinctive features common to both styles include jetted hip pockets with flaps, a welt chest pocket and fitted styling and a jacquard lining with piped trim. Embroiderers will appreciate the concealed zip for easy access. The jacket can be teamed with a choice of trousers and skirts. Girls can select from either a straight or pleated skirt and an on-trend slim-fit trouser is available for both boys and girls.

The Aspire range is constructed from a 65% polyester/35% viscose fabric. It is washable at 40⁰C and coated with a Maxtech Stain resistance finish to repel stains and keep it looking as good as new. Choose from three colour options – black, grey and navy and available in both junior and senior sizes.

Alternatively, team the trousers and skirts with the brand new Prestige 55% poly/45% wool mix jacket in designs catering to both males and females. Each offers sophisticated, fitted styling, button cuffs and a striped jacquard lining with contrast stripe to the sleeve lining and is washable at 30⁰C. Choose from two colours – black and navy.

Tartan continues to be a big trend for 2015/2016. BMB is ready to meet the demand with a quality yarn dye tartan fabric in a poly/viscose mix, available in five colour options and two new styles: the Skye Tartan Skirt – an easy pull-on knife pleat skirt with an elasticated waist band as well as a  Kelso Tartan Kilt, with stitched down knife pleats and a wrap front. Added value extras with Kelso include an internal waist adjuster to accommodate all sizes. These quality products are stock supported and represent exceptional value for schools looking to create their own distinctive identities.

Make it your own

Bespoke adds a brand new chapter to the brochure this year – an area which BMB sees as a major growth opportunity for the business as customers increasingly want to create their own designs to make them stand out from the crowd. Customers can see visual examples in this dedicated section of the breadth of possibilities that can be achieved through the use of BMB’s highly skilled in-house design team and take advantage of the free CAD design service.

New to BMB’s bespoke offering for 2016 are twin packed shirts and blouses. Fabrics, made from an easy care 65% poly/35% cotton, include narrow or wide printed stripes or plain colour options – gold, lilac, lemon, pink and cream.
