Bespoke knitwear in corporate colours

Ladies’ corporate cardigan

The trend in corporatewear is towards bespoke knitwear in corporate colours. So says Mike Carden, who looks after the sales and marketing for British knitwear manufacturer Balmoral Knitwear, alongside his colleague Ian Pollard.

Mike adds: “We are increasingly being asked to match a shade from a company’s colour scheme by our corporatewear customers. Generic knitwear is available in standard shades, but for a business to stand out from its competitors, it needs to have a specific range in corporate colours.”

As well as using Balmoral’s UK manufacturing for smaller quantities, Mike and Ian can arrange quotations for off-shore manufacturing.

Minimum quantities for bespoke shades vary with the yarn type (e.g. 50% cotton 50% acrylic or 50% wool 50% acrylic) and with the style of garment, but often a minimum of 120 garments can be offered. Lead times from the UK are usually about six weeks and from off-shore about eight to 10 weeks for special shades.

“We can offer standard cut-and-sew knitwear and also fine, fully-fashioned knitwear, particularly popular for ladies’ styles,” Mike concludes.
