As part of Kustom Kit’s sustainability strategy, the brand believes that well-made, ethically sourced garments are the most important interventions that need to be made to slow down material flow and reduce overconsumption, while also addressing environmental changes.
Ethical and environmental responsibilities are taken very seriously by Kustom Kit. All factories are fully audited and all components in all garments hold Oeko-Tex certificates.
Kustom Kit believes in responsible design and chooses quality fabrics tested to British standards in order to produce garments that are made to last.
Steps are also taken as part of a duty to protect the workforce employed to manufacture garments. Kustom Kit works tirelessly with suppliers to ensure fair pay and working hours, safe and hygienic working conditions, regular employment and protection from discrimination.
High ethical standards
There is a rigorous selection process for garment manufacturers ensuring only those that are totally committed to exceeding high ethical standards become appointed suppliers.
An ethical audit is a formal examination of the labour and management practices of a factory. It is a verifiable process to understand, measure and report on and help improve the organisation’s social and environmental performance. All Kustom Kit suppliers are audited once a year by at least one of the following recognised bodies: WRAP, SEDEX, BSCI.
Buy less buy better
The Superwash 60 family of garments, in particular, follow the buy less buy better mantra. They are all made from premium fabric, tight tension knit with a clean finish to create the optimum surface for printing every time.
Superwash 60 is a hi-tech fabric that allows the garment to be washed up to 60°C for the removal of stubborn stains without affecting shape or colour. Some garments in the range can also be tumble dried. The make-up is of a high quality. Features such as double stitched seams ensure durability and back neck and shoulder tape provide wearer comfort and shape retention.
The main act of the Superwash line-up is the Klassic polo, as a firm favourite among garment decorators. The wide range of colours and sizes in the KK403/ KK703 combined with the brand’s renowned Superwash 60 fabric ensures its continued appeal. A kids’ version is also available in the KK406.
This 185gsm, 65/35 polyester cotton pique polo features 1×1 flat knit collar and cuffs, half-moon yoke, side vents, spare button, taped back neck, taped shoulder seams, tear out label and a three-button placket with slanted top. Available in 25 colours and in sizes XS to 6XL for selected colours, the KK403/ KK703 can be decorated by embroidery, heat transfer and screen printing.

The designers consider all aspects of garment construction to ensure longevity for the wearer. Styles such as the KK413/KK213 Klassic Slim Fit Polo have the optimum amount of stitches per cm to make the seams stronger and to aid shape retention, while also featuring double seams at stress points for extra durability. It has many of the features of the KK403 with a slightly light weight at 180gsm. Available in five colours and in sizes XXS to 2XL, it can also be decorated by embroidery, heat transfer and screen printing.
Superwash 60 polos are also perfect for workwear applications, able to cope with 60°C washes time after time to remove those tougher stains acquired during a long day on-site. In particular, the KK408 Slim Fit Heavyweight Polo is perfectly suited to the needs of the modern workforce. Heavyweight easy-care fabric and enhanced durability features ensure these polos are able to withstand the pressures of physical work. This 220gsm polo is available in black, navy and graphite and in sizes XS to 2XL. It can be decorated by embroidery, heat transfer and screen printing.
