Continental Clothing Co continues to support sustainable development by launching a new selection of eco-responsible product from certified renewable sources.

Continental is working with Lenzing, a company that works to produce new and innovative fibres, to introduce EcoVero, as the new fibre is known, into its collection.

Unlike artificial fibres, the fabric is made from 100% renewable sources which makes the fibre fully biodegradable. EcoVero fibres are made from wood pulp, a natural and renewable raw material. The wood is sourced from sustainable forestry plantations which are 100% certified by industry leading associations such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

A closed cycle process means that all water and chemicals used during the production process are recycled and used again, resulting in a 0% pollution impact. Only the clean cooling water leaves the cycle, resulting in 50% less energy and water consumption.

Continental has a long history working with organic cotton, recycled polyester and Tencel Lyocell to produce sustainable and eco-friendly clothing. As a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, Continental works to strive towards better working conditions in the textile industry. The next necessary step in the supply chain journey was finding a viscose fibre with full traceability and a low environmental impact.

The new range is available in men’s and women’s styles in white mist, summer blue, navy, brick red, bottle green and black. It is made with 70% EcoVero Viscose and 30% organic cotton.
