Sustainability is on the top of everyone’s wish list in an effort to de-route our planet’s destination. Feedback from our sales representative out on the road and our eager visitors to trade shows have confirmed the demand for options within the industry, welcoming Larkwood’s new Organics Range.

The new for 2020 Organics Range has essential styles covered with the Organic T-Shirt LW620, Organic Sleepsuit LW650 and Organic Bodysuit LW655 made in a super soft 100% organic cotton, single jersey. Although fresh into the market, we believe the styles will be big contenders in the industry with the sales already showing great strength and feedback radiating enthusiasm. Keeping the styles fashionable, best-selling colours are being offered in the T shirt: black, bright pink, navy, royal and white, including a bonus trending natural in size newborn to 24/36 months. Followed with core white in the sleepsuit in sizes newborn to 12/18 months and black, bright pink, natural, navy and white in the bodysuit in sizes newborn to 12/18 months. Having started the range using key statistics from the current Larkwood range, the market is constantly being studied to highlight where style, colour and size demand is targeted.

Considerable growth

The benefits don’t stop there, packaging is on everyone’s mind, over the past few months we have seen a considerable growth in awareness of waste and the volume of plastic our industry generates. In response to our customers efforts and challenges, the Organics Range has been created using recycled card swing tickets and are being supplied in biodegradable bags which when buried in soil will decompose after just two years. Not only that, the whole Larkwood range is currently in grade 4 recyclable plastic bags with new production now being made using 100% recycled plastic bags which are also recyclable after use. By removing all the branding from the bags, decorators can re-use the bags to send onto their customers saving money and the planet.

For childrenswear cotton fabric bases are a popular choice due to the naturally sourced fabric having a durable finish, soft touch and hypoallergenic property while a single jersey construction has a stretch which bounces back after washing. A wide range of our products have been constructed using this fabric base in a medium weight, 160gsm for ultimate comfort to the end wearer.

In terms of trims YKK poppers and zippers are an essential and are used on the full Larkwood range, the accredited brand is dedicated and fully certified on childrenswear to provide a safe and comfortable fastening.

Retail led styles

The need for retail led styles are still on the rise with fashion brands seeking attractive alternatives; a key fashion winner are stripes! A horizontal stripe has always been a contender in the market and has continued to grow inspiring the cotton, single jersey Larkwood LW027 Short-Sleeved Striped T-Shirt, LW028 Striped Long-Sleeved T-Shirt and LW057 Striped Bodysuit available in a selection of colours and styles.

Keeping the little tots in mind, the short-sleeved T shirt has a plain neck rib around the neckline to avoid any irritation on the skin and providing easy stretch to get on and off. Sizes 0/6 months to ¾ years are available in the white/ Oxford navy stripe colourway, finished with twin needle stitching around the sleeve and body hems. The long-sleeved T shirt and bodysuit have similar attractions providing a pop of colour with contrast binding around the neck, self-fabric cuffs and charming elbow patches on the sleeves. Modern navy/ white stripe with red trims and pink/ white stripe with turquoise trims are offered in sizes 0/6 months to 24/36 months in the LW028 and 0/3 months to 12/18 months in the LW057.

The LW035 Rain Jacket is a rolling favourite for the small adventurers out there made in a shower proof 100% polyester available in the primary colours red, yellow and navy. The all important YKK zipper and poppers are featured on the front fastening and patch pockets while the inside is sporting the famous 100% cotton navy/white striped single jersey for the ultimate style staple matching the T shirt styles.
