The winning contract

The Pro Contract 1/4 Zip Sweatshirt is a favourite of Olivia’s from the collection

Late last year Regatta Professional launched a range of responsibly sourced uniform solutions made using Better Cotton. In this Q&A, Olivia Hulton-Palmer, junior buyer at the workwear giant, explains the reasons behind the launch of Pro Contract.

Q. Could you provide an overview of Pro Contract and what the range is?

A. Our new Pro Contract range is a selection of workwear essentials, suitable for all areas of the industry. Providing staple pieces, in soft cotton blend fabrics or highly breathable polyesters, it aims to provide colour options to solve your everyday workwear needs.

Q. What was the driving factor behind the launch of this range?

A. To provide great value product to our customers while giving them easy uniform solutions for any eventuality.

Q. What new products have been created specifically for this range?

A. Our Pro Hoodies and Sweatshirts are new products for this range, and come in sustainably sourced cotton blend fabric perfect for decorating. The demand for comfortable, relaxed workwear is growing in the market, and we have an offering of suitable warm, layering pieces to respond to this trend.

Q. What other products complete the range? Why were these products selected to join the range?

A. To complement the new styles we added some of our tried and tested best-sellers to create a full uniform collection. Our wicking T shirts and polos are a great alternative to polycotton, and provide quick drying properties for the wearer, with a comfortable breathable fabric.

Q. Is there a star product in the range that you would like to highlight for our readers?

A. We love the Pro Contract 1/4 Zip Sweatshirt for its easy casual styling. Relaxed workwear at its best.

Q. Who is the target audience? Why did you decide to target the teamwear/ corporate market with a range like this? What makes the range a great uniform solution?

A. Targeting the corporate market is something we are very accustomed with at Regatta Professional, we understand the corporate markets need for consistency in their uniform, yet we also wanted to respond to the trend towards a more casual and comfortable clothing.

Q. The range is made using Better Cotton. What is Better Cotton? What was the reason for this? Is sustainability a key factor for this audience?

A. At Regatta Professional sustainability is embedded into all of our product development choices, we are always striving to improve our product without compromising the environment. We have done considerable work to ensure our cotton products are sourced sustainably and this shaped our recent decision to join the Better Cotton Initiative which aims to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment.

Q. What makes this range different to anything Regatta has introduced previously?

A. The six best-selling colour options that are available across all nine styles.
