At last month’s Euro Trophex in Amsterdam, TheMagicTouch was awarded the prestigious Best Image Transfer Product of 2016, based on an application using the latest in white-toner technology.
The company introduced its new RST9.1 transfer paper which enables full colour imaging onto a wide range of non-fabric products and substrates with rough surfaces, including untreated wood, slate, cork, ceramics, plastics, MDF and lots more.
The award-winning entry consisted of a personalised Fender Telecaster Guitar decorated using the RST9.1 transfer paper which was printed using the TMT/OKi white toner printer. The transfer was applied to the body of the guitar using a traditional swing head heat press and then finished with six layers of clear resin varnish to match the factory original finish.
In addition a selection of guitar picks were also included decorated with unique personalised designs and again printed using TheMagicTouch image transfer process.
The original design is from a photograph featuring the view from Dukes Bar at the Outrigger Hotel in Hawaii where the guitar is to be auctioned in December helping to raise money towards local charities. The event will be hosted by Hawaii’s number one Rock star Henry Kapono.
