Wakefield Roller Derby team, Wakey Wheeled Cats has given its image some GForce after investing in a contemporary dye sublimated shirt and vest, proudly displaying the team logo.

Showing they take the full-contact sport seriously, the team sought a professional image to take to the track, aiding performance and making the opposition quake in their roller skates.

Wakey Wheeled Cats has been playing together for over five years, competing every month against teams from around the UK. Team vice captain and head of merchandising, Zoe Melia said: “Playing with the Wakey Wheeled Cats is really good fun. We’re a great bunch and really enjoy the training and the regular social events but when we are on the track we are deadly serious.

“The sport is very demanding, and we wanted a kit that supported us when playing, and looked the business. We have taken some inspiration from American Football to create our identity and GForce were brilliant at helping us work through different designs until we selected our final top – and we love it.”

Roller Derby is currently enjoying something of a revival, with more teams than ever before regularly playing.

GForce by Gymphlex has created a huge portfolio of garments utilising high performance fabrics and contemporary designs. This enables any sports team or club to select the ideal garments for the discipline and create the perfect identity upon the kit. It is this quality and flexibility that has led to GForce being the preferred supplier for countless teams and clubs around the UK.
