Nine members of the Blue Max Banner sales, embroidery, customer services and quality control teams have all achieved NVQ level two in Business Admin, passing with flying colours!
The team, led by sales office manager Laura Quintrell, began their training in Business Administration in October and finally completed the course in February.
The programme was offered and conducted by Campbell Page UK, a local provider, and funded by Serco SFA and ESF. It aims to develop skills in the provision of routine and more complex support using a wide range of everyday administrative systems and procedures.
Ms Quintrell said: “When the opportunity arose, many of us jumped at the chance particularly those of us who don’t already have business qualifications. We all decided that a recognised accreditation that would have direct relevance to the roles we are performing here at Blue Max Banner, would be really beneficial.
“But it’s not only the practical side that has proved so valuable. The process has also really boosted team confidence. It is clear to see that some members of my team have really grown over the past few months. They feel valued by their employers and are also incredibly proud to have achieved such high standards, purely on their own merit.
“The department is quite mixed, in terms of age, background and life stage. The process involved in the training has also been a great leveller which has brought us all even closer together as a team.”
Bruce Freeland, operations director said: “Laura, as head of the team is one of a number of self-motivated individuals that we have at Blue Max Banner. When Laura isn’t at work she is constantly out and about, running half marathons and fundraising for various charities. She identified this opportunity for this training through her own research, but we were delighted to offer support. We are a customer driven business and we will get behind any initiatives that help enhance our service offering.
“Laura’s team has always been 100% committed to the task. But now they are literally buzzing with their achievements. That optimism can’t help but have a positive effect on the business.”
