
At the BPMA Christmas Lunch on December 15, a new industry standard was announced.
BPMA chairman Graeme Smith used his address to talk about the new industry standard. Following a number of high profile liquidations, a number of conversations have taken place to help avoid situations re-occurring Mr Smith said. The new industry standard will be formalised in the New Year.
Mr Smith went onto highlight the investment being made by the Association in research including being part of a pan European project, supplier mystery shopper and more end user activity.
It was also announced that the BPMA programme is making a return. The BPMA Education day will be held on January 30.
Two awards were also presented at the event, the first was the Richard Dyson award sponsored by the Briman group to support the most active distributor in promoting UK manufacturers. The winner was Jamie Marshall from Premier Print & Promotions and collected by Trevor Howard in Mr Marshall’s absence.
The second award was for the Victor Rosewell’s Sword of Honour bestowed to an individual who has given considerable amount of the time to support the association. As a past chair, president and director of the BPMA, the award was presented to CEO of Fluid Branding, Matt Franks. Mr Franks will now become a fellow of the BPMA.
