Last year was the biggest Brand Licensing Europe in the event’s history, but this year organisers are hoping to top it with an even bigger show.
The event, which is the only pan-European show dedicated to licensing and brand extension, will take place in London’s Olympia from October 13 to 15.
With 70 new exhibitors bringing the total number to more than 300, the floor has been split into three zones to help visitors find their way easily; Art, Design & Image, Brands & Lifestyle, and Character & Entertainment.
BLE event director, Darren Brechin, said: “We’ve set the bar high this year following the success of the 2014 event. We aim to increase all three of the zones; representing lots of new categories on the show floor. We also want to continue to grow our retail attendance. With over 70 new exhibitors on board, and our Retail Mentoring Programme welcoming five new retailers, we’re looking set to achieve these goals.”
Exhibitors already signed up include Chelsea Football Club, Dreamworks Entertainment, Lee Stafford, Volkswagen and WWE.
What’s new for 2015?
There are two new features for 2015: SPLiCE educational afternoons and the BLE Blog.
This year visitors can attend education expert panel sessions from SPLiCE (Society of Product Licensors Committed to Excellence) on direct to retail, social accountability and anti-counterfeiting.
The BLE Blog has been launched to offer insight and comment on the show. Mr Brechin explained: “It’s the next step in the show’s evolution. It’s the perfect platform for us to shout about what we do, but also gather together valuable content from our varied show partners and industry experts.”
Charity focus
Once again BLE is supporting a number of charity causes; Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be providing the official show mascot in the form of Squirt the Staffie. For the first time BLE will be extending its support to Help the Heroes.
