Touching Tiny Lives Charities say thank you to Product Zone for recent donations

In recent months, Product Zone has donated T shirts and hats to two charities which are close to the company’s heart.

The first donation of T shirts was made to UK Aid for Deprived Children – a charity that was set up to help victims of the Chernobyl disaster.

Office manager Karl Crisp first encountered this charity over 20 years ago while he worked for Arsenal Football Club, where they donated out of date products and returns to the cause. When Mr Crisp joined Product Zone in 2011 he introduced Tony Marks, director, to George Mills who has dedicated his life to raising funds for the charity.

Over the years, Product Zone has donated all sorts of hats, scarves, gloves and any other surplus items to the charity. The recent donation of T shirts was sent to Croatia, Ukraine and Yangon.

Although now in his 80s, Mr Mills still makes regular trips overseas to personally hand over the donations.

Dr Vasil Pasichnyck, of the Revival Centre in the Ukraine paid his thanks to Product Zone. He said: “On behalf of disabled children, who suffered because of the Chernobyl catastrophe and  from those who suffered from war actions and have treatment from the centre, their parents and the staff of the centre thank you very much for many years of continual support and donation of super quality T shirts. Your kindness is helping so many people. Thank you for being the centre’s friends. Your devotion is unbelievable.”

The second charity that Product Zone recently donated 50 embroidered turn up knitted hats to is Touching Tiny Lives. This charity works in the highlands of Lesotho to provide medical and nutritional support for malnourished and HIV positive children.

Mr Marks’ daughter-in-law, Ali Kukovich, works for the charity out in Lesotho, doing everything from administrative tasks to bringing babies to hospital for check-ups.

She said: “I love working at TTL because its role is so important in the lives of so many children and families in Lesotho.”

Nthabeleng Lephoto, managing director of TTL, said: “On behalf of all TTL staff, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for this incredible gift of hats from Product Zone. Mokhotlong district is situated in the mountainous part of Lesotho. The weather here gets cold for the most part of the year. As a result, because of their good quality, which is rarely found in Lesotho, these hats will keep us all warm throughout the year. Keep up the good work Product Zone.”

Mr Marks added: “The reasons are obvious why I support this charity, not only because it’s an amazing cause, but because my daughter-in-law is out there working with them.”
