The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has reported continued expansion across global textile supply chains, according to the Global Standard Annual Report 2025.
The report shows that the number of GOTS-certified facilities increased by 15.3% year-on-year, reaching approximately 17,800 certified sites across 95 countries.
The growth highlights sustained demand for independently verified sustainability standards amid increasing regulatory pressure and scrutiny of global supply chains.
The Global Standard also reported progress in strengthening due diligence alignment and improving traceability systems, alongside the continued development of its Global Responsible Textile Standard (GRTS), designed to extend credible sustainability frameworks beyond organic fibres.
In addition, the organisation noted further engagement with brands, manufacturers and certification bodies through training, consultations and collaborative initiatives aimed at improving transparency and implementation across the textile sector.
Global Standard said the results reflect a wider industry shift towards more robust and system-level approaches to sustainability, as companies seek to meet evolving environmental and social responsibility expectations.
The Annual Report 2025 reinforces GOTS’ position as one of the leading certification frameworks in the global textile industry.
