On May 15, the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria hosted the Bulgarian premiere of Beyond Zone and Kingly was delighted to take part.
Beyond Zero tells the compelling story of Interface and its late CEO, Ray Anderson, who more than three decades ago committed to radically transforming his company to achieve zero environmental impact. The film, widely regarded as a landmark case study in corporate sustainability, captivated an audience of 70 guests, including ESG professionals, senior executives, and sustainability advocates.
Kingly’s sustainability manager, Kristi White, had the opportunity to engage with ESG expert and global sustainability ambassador Tomasz Svoboda, who was instrumental in bringing the film to Bulgaria.
She said: “Beyond Zero was incredibly inspiring. Ray Anderson’s transformation – from someone initially unaware of sustainability to a visionary leader guiding his company toward what he called the top of Mount Sustainability – was truly remarkable. He faced numerous challenges, including scepticism from within his own team. Yet he pressed on with unwavering conviction. His commitment to sustainability and his compelling vision for the company ultimately inspired his entire workforce.”
Also attending the event was Sharika Betts from Kingly’s sales department. She added: “The movie made me want to take action and do my part. It was a privilege to attend, and the discussions afterward with the guest speaker were thought-provoking and energising.”
In addition to the screening, Kingly participated in the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact on May 16. The company remains committed to advancing sustainable business practices in alignment with the UN Global Compact principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
