Mantis and Babybugz wave goodbye to UK market

Garment brands Mantis and Babybugz will no longer be available in the UK market.

The decision was made by their new German owner, L-Shop Team, which instead wishes to focus operations on the European market.

As part of the transition Mantis World will continue its journey under the new name, Well Made Clothing, reflecting the company’s core values of producing responsibly made, sustainable clothing.

While the Mantis and Babybugz brands will no longer be available in the UK market to the same extent as previously, the company will continue to offer UK partners the same bespoke and private label services it has done so for 20 years.

Prama Bhardwaj, CEO and founder of Mantis World, said: “This marks a new chapter for the brands.

“With the support of L-Shop Team, we can focus on expanding our reach across Europe while continuing to serve our UK clients through tailored private label solutions.

“Our new name, Well Made Clothing, reflects our enduring mission: to make clothing that is responsibly produced, certified to the highest standards, and designed to last.”

To support its UK customers during this transition, Well Made Clothing will sell through remaining UK stock at a discounted rate offering a final opportunity to purchase the collections directly.

L-Shop Team announced its takeover of Mantis World in February where it said the brand would strengthen its position in the field of customisable clothing.

At the time, Andrea Herrmann, shareholder of L-Shop Team, said: “Integrating the Mantis and Babybugz brands into the L-Shop family is an important milestone on our journey.

“Both brands fit perfectly with our vision and our idea of sustainable, fair and transparent behaviour.”
