SOL’S awarded ISO 50001:2011 certification for its energy management standards

In March 2017 SOL’S obtained its ISO 50001:2011 certification relating to energy management standard requirements. This rewards SOL’S efforts over several years as part of its energy transition policy.

SOL’S started 2017 with a double success, since it had also just renewed its ISO 9001 quality management certification by implementing the demanding guidelines set out in 2015, so as to attain an enhanced quality of service.

SOL’S energy management actions are based around three main concepts:

1) Energy use in its Paris headquarters building: SOL’S reduced its annual energy consumption by 10% in 2016. This was possible not only through the implementation of innovative solutions and technologies, but also thanks to a strong commitment by SOL’S teams, who share the same values and practice eco-friendly behavior on a daily basis.

2) Systematic use of several recycling policies: The introduction of a paper recycling circuit by way of the Recy’go system, run by the French postal service company La Poste, has increased SOL’S energy saving by 10% each year since 2014 i.e. 2.5 tons of paper were recycled in 2016.

SOL’S has also actively been attempting since 2014 to efficiently recycle its lighting systems, computer equipment, cardboard packaging and textile scraps.

3) SOL’S is committed to extending its influence: SOL’S consistently assesses its new suppliers’ practices, to ensure that these are also committed to implementing a sustainable energy policy. This is a key element that SOL’S clearly states in all its invitation to tender requirements across all areas of its organisation.
