Trutex attends prestigious St James’s Palace event

L-R: Matthew Easter, MD Trutex, Wayne Bulpitt, chair of The Diana Award, and David Manning, Chair of Trutex

Two members of Trutex were honoured to attend a ceremony at St James’s Palace on Thursday, May 18 to mark 20 years since Princess Diana’s death and to celebrate the achievements of 20 exceptional young people.

The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry presented Legacy Awards to 20 young people from across the world, recognising their qualities of kindness, compassion and service.

Trutex has worked with the Diana Award since January 2017 in a number of projects to defeat bullying. The schoolwear supplier has set up sessions in schools around the UK to discuss bullying and offer unique training to pupils to become anti-bullying ambassadors for their school. The sessions are designed so that students will leave the day feeling inspired and full of fantastic ideas to tackle bullying, something that can impact nearly a third of children, in both their schools and communities.

As a result of this work David Manning, chairman and Matthew Easter, managing director, were invited to attend the event.

Mr Easter said: “Attending this event was such an honour. We are very proud of our work with the Diana Award and have found great inspiration meeting these exceptional young people. We shall continue our work with the Diana Award working together to tackle bullying and supporting our anti-bullying ambassadors across the UK.”

The Diana Award was set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. The charity, which runs anti-bullying and mentoring programmes, is unique as it also rewards young people who carry out inspiring work without expectation of reward.
