Jute, brushed cotton canvas, Control Union certified organic cotton canvas… Westford Mill has cemented its reputation as the natural choice for big value bags for life with the launch of seven new bags styles in natural, sustainable fabrics. The brand is also giving the reusable bags market a welcome dash of style, introducing a range of lifestyle accessories alongside the traditional shoppers and totes.
The new W421 Printers’ Midi Jute Bag and W422 Printers’ Jute Classic Shopper are designed to offer customers the best of both worlds, presenting fresh possibilities for those who wish to apply high quality branding to jute bags.
The W421 and W422 combine the textural and environmental appeal of jute fabric with the printability of cotton canvas. Each bag features a large cotton canvas panel to the front and rear. These provide a more even and easier to embellish surface than jute, and are ideal for high-resolution print and detailed embroidery.
The 14 litre W421 is based on the popular W413 Jute Midi Tote. Measuring 30x30x19cm and offering a suggested maximum print area of 23x22cm, (18 tubular embroidery hoop) it comes in a choice of apple green, black, fuchsia, natural and navy colours (with white cotton canvas panels) and is finished with 40cm long handles.
The W422 is a development of the W407 Jute Classic Shopper. Like the W407, the new bag measures 42x13x19cm, and has a suggested maximum print area of 34x26cm (22 tubular embroidery hoop). It comes in the same five colours as the W421 and has 65cm long cotton carry handles, which allow it to be carried in the hand or over the shoulder.
Westford Mill is anticipating a huge response to its new range of brushed cotton accessories. Comprising the W530 Canvas Accessory Case, W540 Accessory Bag and W550 Canvas Digital Media Case, these compact and stylish products are ideal for use as promotional and giveaway products and boast a level of finishing detail that’s rarely found in the large volume bags for life market.
Each of the three styles is available in a choice of three sizes (S, M, L) and two colours – black and natural. The W530 and W540 are finished with a vintage style metal zip closure, while the W550 uses wooden button closures, and is sized to be compatible with the iPad Mini, Amazon’s Kindle book reader, and a range of full-size tablets. The media case also features protective padding for the valuable devices.
The renewed interest in organic fabrics has prompted Westford Mill to expand its Organic offering with two new EarthAware styles. The W801 EarthAware Organic Bag For Life sees the hugely successful W101 Promo Bag For Life reinvented in premium weight (340gsm) Control Union certified 100% organic cotton canvas fabric. Like the W101, the bag has a 10 litre capacity and a maximum print area of 33x36cm (18 tubular embroidery hoop).
The W810 EarthAware Organic Gymsac is made from the same premium weight organic cotton fabric and is finished with heavy rope draw cord closures. The bag is larger than Westford Mill’s W110 Cotton Gymsac (in conventional 140gsm 100% cotton fabric) and will have strong appeal for any school that’s interested in promoting sustainability and care for the environment as part of its educational ethos.
Both bags are available in a choice of black and natural colours and the organic cotton fabric has been tested to ensure that it provides a high quality background for all types of embellishment.
