In connection with the imminent launch of the first Hybrid DTG printer, Resolute DTG has designed a new high opacity dual purpose white ink that allows the new hybrid system to function.
Resolute Ink high opacity will replace the traditional Resolute Ink launched five years ago. There will be no need for any changes to be made to existing DTG printers using Resolute Ink once the current ink is phased out. The new ink will follow on without the need to flush the system.
The high opacity Resolute Ink does what the name suggests, brighter whites with greater durability while still retaining its very economical price. The main reason for the reformulation is to allow the unique stencil system on the R-Jet 5 Hybrid to print onto dark shirts with no pre-treatment.
Colin Marsh, md of the Resolute Group said: “The entire project has been designed and the final version will be manufactured in the UK within the Resolute Group. This makes the whole team involved very proud. The project has been two years in development and to launch such a breakthrough from British soil is a major achievement.”
The direct to garment printing process can now fill the gap for print runs up to 400 per unit per shift in continuous tone full colour including white ink with no pre-treatment, at a fraction of the normal cost. The setup time for a full colour job will be less than 15 minutes, as registration is controlled by software and setup requires only one shirt.
Information on the new system is posted on Resolute’s website, which features a blog with daily updates. Once a video showing the process is available pre-launch orders can be placed with an estimated installation date of October.
