The M-Link features an industrial inkjet engine designed specifically for printing on fabrics. Not only does it have the sophisticated feature set experienced professionals require, it’s superior to printers costing more than twice as much. M-Link produces great results on whites, lights, darks and blacks, and the 36×5 cm (14×20.5in) included pallet can be used to print images up to 33x48cm (13x19in) on 100% cotton, 50/50 cotton blend, and some polyester fabrics.
And M-Link is fast, printing white shirts in 15 to 45 seconds and dark shirts in two to three minutes. M-Link uses DuPont Artistri BRITE digital textile inks. Artistri BRITE inks provide numerous advantages, including up to 40% colour improvement compared to previous generation direct to garment inks; a pH balance that minimises printhead issues like clogging; and the capacity for curing in gas convection dryers like M&R’s Sprints, greatly increasing production speed and versatility.
M-Link’s RIP-controlled print modes include conventional two-pass printing (white base on the inward pass, drying on the outward pass and a second inward pass, and CYMK on the second outward pass); bi-directional Y-axis printing for increased productivity (white base on the inward pass and CYMK on the outward pass); and OPEP or One-Pass Express Printing (white and CYMK on a single pass) for maximum speed on applicable artwork. A high-strength magnetic hold-down clamp secures garments and eliminates the need for messy adhesives. M-Link’s Z-axis laser printhead protection system scans the garment for wrinkles, virtually eliminating costly head strikes. M-Link includes a built-in stand, computer, and RIP software.
