Poor sleep, financial worries, and mental wellbeing were among the challenges facing the print industry, according to the latest published research by The Printing Charity.
Released to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10, the insight aims to ensure the experiences of industry employees inform the charity’s future support services.
The survey of more than 1,300 people found that workers remain passionate about their jobs, with three-quarters reporting a sense of job satisfaction. Four in five said their work was important to their organisation, while seven in ten felt appreciated for their efforts.
Workplaces were also found to offer positive support, with nearly eight in ten respondents comfortable discussing work-related stress with their manager or senior leader.
However, challenges remain, including poor sleep, financial worries, the cost-of-living crisis and mental wellbeing.
Neil Lovell, CEO of the Printing Charity, said: “Our goal for the research was to find out what the biggest challenges are for people working in our sectors.”
The charity hopes the findings will help it provide relevant support while equipping businesses with practical ways to improve employee wellbeing.
